My Lord and My Master
Adonai – Lord and Master – is used over 400 times and found in practically every book of the Old Testament. It signifies absolute ownership of all creation, everything and everyone. As Lord, He has authority over, and rights to, every one of us and all that we possess. He has the absolute right to command and dispose of us according to His perfect, good and pleasing will. As Lord, He commands total and complete obedience. We are to surrender everything to Him (it all belongs to Him and comes from Him anyway) and submit to His authority. And when we do surrender and submit to Him, He gives us the right to receive His protection, His help, and His provision. As our Master, it is His responsibility to provide, protect, guide and even care for all those in His charge. Can you imagine it? The God of the universe, the One who knows everything, possess everything, the source of all strength and might, has agreed to provide for you, look after you, teach you, fight for you, protect you! Even die for you. He has invited us to come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. (Isaiah 55:1) Glory hallelujah, amen.
Who is your master?
