What is the Glory of God?
God’s Glory is all of God’s character – the beauty that emanates from His character – on display. Since God is of infinite value and infinitely perfect and beautiful in every conceivable and inconceivable way, such then is the Glory of God. There is nothing more beautiful. There is nothing more resplendent. There is nothing more exciting. There is nothing more glorious.
Jesus is the Son of God. To be the Son of God is to be of the same nature as God. He is God. He is the exact representation of God, the Glory of God, on display for all to see. If we have seen Jesus then we have seen the Father.
Jesus is the Glory of God. And since we have seen Jesus, let us no longer be captivated by lessor things. Let us no longer be entertained by that which defiles us. Let us live as those who have seen His Glory and bask in His magnificent light. Let us not worship anyone or anything but Him. Let us freely and joyfully give Him all that we have and all that we are and all that we do. Let everything we do and think and want be a sacrifice of praise to the One who alone is worthy.
